Rupa Baskaran
Rupa Baskaran is a skilled arbitrator, mediator, and hearing examiner with an abiding interest in alternative dispute resolution. She is currently listed on the the American Arbitration Association (AAA) roster of arbitrators for the employment and consumer panels, the American Health Law Association (AHLA) rosters of mediators and arbitrators, the Texas Comptroller’s Arbitrator Registry, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Independent Hearing Examiner roster, the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) rosters of mediators and appraisal umpires, and the 2025 pending roster of arbitrators for the National Center for Dispute Settlement (NCDS). In 2023, she was awarded the American Arbitration Association’s Higginbotham Fellowship, which recognizes rising alternative dispute resolution professionals.
In addition to her experience as a neutral, Rupa is an attorney with more than twelve years of experience in labor and employment law. She has represented clients in civil litigation, collective bargaining, grievance and interest arbitration, mediation, administrative agency complaint investigations and responses, and compliance with state and local laws. She is licensed to practice law in Connecticut, Illinois, Ohio, and Texas and is a member of the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
Shashank Rao
Shashank Rao is an experienced arbitrator, mediator, and hearing officer with a wide breadth of knowledge in alternative dispute resolution processes. He has handled matters involving commercial and residential property, employment benefits, financial securities, and other business disputes. He is listed on the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) roster of arbitrators, the Texas Comptroller’s Arbitrator Registry, the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) rosters of mediators and appraisal umpires, the 2025 pending roster of arbitrators for the National Center for Dispute Settlement (NCDS), and the 2025 pending roster of arbitrators for the Better Business Bureau (BBB) National Programs. He also serves as a Hearing Officer who oversees unemployment hearings.
Shashank is a licensed attorney in the state of Texas whose practice areas include civil litigation, commercial paper, judgment debt collection, immigration, bankruptcy, health law, and landlord-tenant law. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Austin College. In addition to his experience as an attorney, Shashank has also worked in the field of digital product management for over a decade, giving him a detailed expertise in digital information technology, intellectual property, and data privacy and security matters, with a particular eye towards regulatory and statutory compliance.
